I would like to dedicate this to Ghostie who asked me to sing this song. I you Ghostie and I gave it everything I've got and may have busted some things along the way Gene, I'm so glad to have been a part of this with you, especially with Ghostie being your wife and all. Makes it extra special. And to put the icing on the cake, there was Howard with his drums and his extra magic touches. Thank you all so much

Awesome Heart when they were good (Barracuda, Magic Man) before they became sanitized FM EZ rock like the drippy 'Alone'. Everything is very authentic, from the foundation of drums upwards, guitars and the *best part last* the cool analog synth (this was always my favourite part of the original too).

Let's see... you take one part GREAT song, add three parts truly talented musicians, and voila! Instant Classic! This is Katie's cup of tea, and she nailed it! The music is dead on target, and if I could find anything to be picky about, I would. But I can't. It's just that good!

This is a difficult song to try to recreate and you guys did a decent job.
The drums sounds absolutely killer.
The various tones on the guitar are pretty close and accurate...as is the sawtooth wave sound in the instrumental section.
The vocals don't quite have the power of Ann Wilson, but it's a helluva lot better than most folks could do. There also seems to be a number of synchronization issues with how the vocals are set in the track.
I commend everyone for taking on a really difficult tune.

Thanks, Mike!! I think the guys did a fantastic job and you're right, not an easy song whatsoever. Believe me...I never claimed to be Ann Wilson...she is my idol...and if I didn't love Ghostie so much who was the one who requested that I sing this, I would never have taken on such an awesome singer as Ann. As I said in my earlier comment, I think I busted something while trying to sing this

Hello all you wonderful DMers
thank you all for listening, and for all
the fantastic comments! I must say this is
one of the tougher covers that I've been involved with here at Dm ..Like Howard said earlier Katie and I have had this in
the works for 2yrs because we couldn't find a drummer who had the confidence to take this song on.Long story short~we found Howard! after hearing his excellent drumming~it was obvious
Thanx agn for playing a most important part in this collab Howard Now Katie I for one wouldn't want you to be
or sound just like Ann Wilson~you have your own style and like mojo said you are very versatile so when I hear Katie I know just by the voice it's Katie
Love ya girl fantastic job on this!
I believe by now everyone knows I'm not
Roger Fisher but being unafraid to explore and
try to emulate his style and techniques
has been a learning experience for me and I feel a posative thing in all aspects I'm pleased to be a part
of this and Thanks everyone

I have to to you guys for taking on such a challenging masterpiece & you did it
Fantastic performance, I'm a big Heart fan so I really pay attention to detail & I would sure like to know if anyone could do this better than you, but I don't think so because you guys nailed it
Howard & Gene your musical abilities are of great workmanship & you put a lot of effort into your work
Katie your singing is always perfect & I love the way you can switch to so many different styles even Annie would be proud
This collab is one to remember, keep them coming

I don't really know this song all that well. I think I've heard it a few times over the years. This is an amazing collab that much I do know. Everyones part is done very well. Also the mix is pretty darn good too. Katie sings this in her as per usual awesome style. Epic collab!

Hmmm Aint this Jefferson Airplane? OK, I'm old, I confess.
I'm not familiar with Hart's version, but this is a great tune. Know what stikes me as weird Katie? When you cover a song and view it as "taking on" a difficult artist. If anything it's just the opposite - paying homage to an artist or doing that artist's work justice - which you do tremendously.
Guys, the music is excellent as well - bravo! The drums are cool, nothing like the real thing. And the lead guitar & mix are very authentic.
All in all this is an excellent collab, and Katie works as a rocker chick.
Trivia Fact - In the 1930's and 1940's there was a slng term for a rolled up matchbook cover used to hold the roach of a joint - a jefferson airplane. No joke lol.
